FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • WHAT ARE DIY LASH EXTENSIONS AND PRE CUT LASHES?
DIY lash extensions are a ribbon of lashes that you can customise yourself by cutting up the lash segment to the desired width, for best result’s we recommend cutting the width of one segment. Our pre cut lashes are already cut to size and ready to use straight from the box. Lashes come in a variety of styles and lengths. They are a great alternative to strip and salon lashes.
  • WHAT ARE THEY MADE FROM?
All our lashes are made from a Korean PBT silk fibre. All our products are cruelty free and suitable for vegans.
  • HOW LONG DO THEY LAST?
On average lashes can last 5-7 days, using the sealant with the glue you will find they will last longer. Sealant can be applied daily. To get maximum wear make sure your natural lashes are clean and free from oils and make up prior to application. If your lashes aren’t lasting as long as you hoped please see the reasons below that may affect them. Your natural lashes were not clean and free from oil, dirt and make up before application Not enough bond was applied - pump the bond a few times to make sure the product is mixed - apply more bonder. An oil based cleaner was used on your lashes. Use oil free products only around the eye area. You have excessive oily skin around the eye area, this creates an oily barrier on your natural eyelashes. You haven’t pinched them together enough. Doing this is important as it helps to adhere them to your natural eyelashes. Our tweezers have been designed with a curvature to them so you can easily access the waterline and pinch lashes together. You have got them wet. Our glue can take a few splashes of water therefore you shouldn’t submerge your lashes in water. Avoid sleeping on your face as they may not last as long with the pressure pushing down on your lashes. You may need to re apply.
  • ARE THEY WATERPROOF?
Our glue can handle a few splashes of water. We recommend not getting them drenched in water as they may come loose or fall off from the lash line. Any type of lash extension will hold droplets of water, in this case gently pat them dry with a soft cloth or towel. You can use spoolie brush to re fluff them back out.
  • CAN I RESUSE THEM?
Yes you can! Make sure all segments have been thoroughly washed and no remover, oils or makeup residue is left on the segments. These can be cleaned by soaking in isopropyl alcohol solution. Take the soaked lashes out and place on a paper towel, leave to dry and re fluff lashes by brushing through with a spoolie.
  • ARE THEY COMFORTABLE TO WEAR?
Absolutely. Making sure the lashes do not touch the waterline is the key to comfortableness. If lashes are placed to close to the waterline this will cause irritation and discomfort. Remove the lash and re apply.
  • WHAT IF A SEGMENT FALLS OUT?
Re apply the bond to the lash segment using the micro tip applicator on our bonder. It is perfect for this type of application. Re apply sealer and pinch segments back together.
  • WILL THEY DAMAGE MY NATURAL LASHES?
As long as you don’t pick or pull at them and remove them correctly, they should leave your lashes damage free. Don’t panic if you see natural lashes attached to the segment as natural eyelashes have a life cycle of 60-90 days and we loose these daily.
  • SHOULD I PATCH TEST?
Certainly! It is important to patch test at least 24hours prior to application. Whilst we do take every precaution to ensure our products are safe and non-toxic and suitable for sensitive eyes, it may not suit every skin type. You can carry put a patch test by placing a small amount of bond behind your lower ear section and wait 24hours to see if any irritation occurs. If irritation or discomfort occurs, rinse the area immediately with warm water for a few minutes, discontinue use straight away. If irritation persists please seek medical advice
  • CAN I USE THESE IF I HAVE SHORT LASHES?
Most definitely! You only need enough lashes to apply the bond to.
  • HOW DO I APPLY THE LASHES?
Firstly to apply our DIY and pre cut lashes make sure you have carried out a patch test! Ensure natural lashes are thoroughly cleansed and free of oil and make up residue. Remove the ribbon from the box and cut to desired width. Lay the lashes out close to you. We recommend 4-5 segments per eye. Apply a small amount of bonder close to your lash line. Using our tweezers apply the segments underneath your natural eyelashes, be sure to place close to the waterline. Once all segments are in place apply the sealer in the same area as you applied the bond. Finally pinch those lashes together for the ultimate bond. Using our pre cut lashes? Carefully remove the segments from the box and follow the above information. You can layer the lashes up by using the end of the bonder as it has a micro tip. Dot the bonder onto the segment and overlap or apply in the same place as the other lashes, this creates a darker lash line and thicker lashes, perfect for that extra glam touch! Different styles of lashes can also be mixed for different looks and texture of lashes, don’t be afraid to experiment!
  • I AM STRUGGLING TO APPLY THE LASHES, CAN YOU HELP?
Here at Mylash we are a friendly team, please send us an email so we can help you with any questions or advice.
  • HOW CAN I STOP THEM FEELING STICKY AFTER APPLICATION?
Avoid applying to much lash bond to the lashes. Use only at the roots of your natural eyelashes then a light coat over the rest of the lashes. If you have long natural eyelashes apply half way up the lash. Apply sealer as this helps to take away the tacky residue.
